Scholar Support: Need-Based Fellowships

The Provide Fellowship

Financial support for students with dependents.

Eligibility

  • Total Household Income (THI) of less than $140,000, and;

  • At least one dependent

Award Basis

Award allocations are determined by the number of dependents, the student’s THI and the level of need across the Doctoral student population.

Award Disbursement

Awards will be distributed in two payments via check or Zelle transfer. The first payment will be made on or before October 30th and the second payment will be made on or before February 15th. Students expecting payment are required to submit an affidavit stating that there have been no material changes to their financial position before the second disbursement.

Application Process & Timeline

Applications will be accepted once at the beginning of each academic year. Students must submit a new application at the start of each academic year.

The Provide Fellowship Application

The Care Fellowship

Financial support for significant and/or unexpected medical expenses.

Eligibility

  • Total Household Income (THI) of less than $140,000, and;

  • Medical expenses incurred by student or dependents while enrolled in program

Award Basis

Award allocations are determined by the amount of the medical expenses, the student’s THI and availability of funds.

Award Disbursement

Awards will be distributed in one lump sum via check or Zelle transfer.

Application Process & Timeline

The applications will be available year-round and students can apply as needed. Applications will be reviewed and decisions communicated within a month of submitting the application.

The Care Fellowship Application

The Lift Fellowship

Financial support for students from lower-income backgrounds who carry significant financial burdens or obligations to family.

Eligibility

An incoming student who:

  • Comes from a lower-income background, and;

  • Provides financial support to family (not including dependents), or;

  • Carries other significant financial burden

Award Basis

Award allocations are determined by the student’s financial background, financial obligations, and the level of need across the incoming class; up to 3 students may be selected.

Award Disbursement

Awards will be distributed in four equal payments via check or Zelle transfer at the start of each of the first four semesters in which the student is actively enrolled.

Application Process & Timeline

Students are only eligible to apply prior to their first year in the Doctoral Programs. The deadline for 2026 is April 9 and decisions are communicated before April 15.
