Job Market
When you're ready to go on the job market, HBS has amazing resources to support you.
The Doctoral Office receives inquiries from faculty about job market students and usually refers inquiries to the HBS Doctoral job market website. To submit information for this site, email updated information to Darlene Le.
HBS students have access to a personal HBS profile page where they can update their research progress and more. Job market students should keep this page updated at all times. Instructions for updating your personal page are available here. You can view and search faculty and doctoral pages here.
Recent Placement
More than 2/3 of HBS Doctoral Programs alumni are placed at a business school or research university upon graduation. More information about recent placements by program is available here.
Academic Resource Center
The Academic Resource Center is here to help students optimize their learning at Harvard through individual meetings with academic coaches and peer tutors as well as group workshops and accountability sessions.
Presentation Skills Workshops for Conferences

The workshops assist students with presentation skills such as content and delivery, especially the use of voice and body to create a public “presence.”

Individual sessions are available to all students on the job market with professional speech coaches when students are preparing for flyouts.
Job Talk Slide Design Consultation
Slides are currency in academic. All job market candidates can work with a graphic designer on their presentation slides, ensuring rigorous materials are accessible to the audience.
Presentation Workshops for the Job Market
Each year, the Doctoral Programs Office hosts a Job Market Workshop Series. Sessions include slide preparation, presentation, and writing skills. These workshops will focus on developing your story and creating effective visual presentations. More information about these offerings is announced in early spring. Attendance is required to access 1:1 consultations with our coaches. Please contact Marais Young for more information.
